I made my Free Tv Book out of glitched memories to glamorize documented scenes from everyday life.

I think of the unfoldable book format as a Pandora's box of static, faded, fuzzy, glitchy memories and episodes of Free Tv. By manipulating the pixels I am creating my own media memories. I think that any media--books, magazines, tv, video--presents us with an idealized version of life which we internalize to some extent.

But at what point does that become real? When does an image of something replace that thing? At what point does reality tv turn into reality and vise versa?

For a month I made my own weekly reality tv show to turn my own reality into tv documentation. But as the memories decay the edited narrative slowly replaces my memory of the real events and reality becomes difficult to distinguish from the media medium, which doesn't make either version of reality more or less correct. As the footage aged I became more interested in glitching it out into static that perhaps presents an equally valid version of the past reality that continues to evolve in the present. Free tv.
